There are two main groups that hams in the Santa Ynez Valley participate in: ARES and SYVARRG.
The Santa Ynez Valley ARES is formally known as the Central County ARES for the Santa Barbara District of the Santa Barbara Section.
The local ARES net is held on the K6SYV repeater(147.21+) on Wednesdays at 8pm. ARES activities are posted on the main calendar.
Local ARES Meetings for the Santa Ynez Valley occur a couple of times a year. The ARES Section Meeting for the Santa Barbara Section (San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties) occurs about 4 times a year. Location and times to be announced.
The Santa Ynez Valley ARES Bulletin is published on a monthly basis. To obtain a copy, contact the editor, Dave Lamb (WA6BRW). The bulletin contains information about local events and ARES information.
